20% project – week 6

This week was amazing and I was able to accomplish by adding details/facts to every plastic pollution related photo. I was also able to add additional facts about what a polyethylene is, and what it has impacted in the marine life. Finally every picture has a description besides it! Than just an empty photo. Some successes that I experienced this week were finishing my trifold. This week was a great week and I didn’t have any struggles at all. Since nothing went wrong, I had no adjustments to make. Pick up next time: To be ready in the day to present to class, and the day to present do families, I will mainly be focusing on practicing my presentation/tri fold informations that I’ve written down. Next week I will be working on practicing/presenting my presentation/tri fold informations that I’ve written down. All this preparation is to help me be more confident and ready to get full score in the rubric for presenting grade.

VIP

Somebody that has had an impact on my life is my mom. I was given a life for a reason. We don’t just exist to roam around the world. Everyone was born for a reason. What reason? To strive in life. My mother reminds me of a calculator. She will give me countless of hugs and kisses. Whenever I needed her support, she was always there for me. My mother always cooks a three course meal everyday just to fill my belly, and not be starving. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. They are always delicious. When I ever made a mistake that disappoints her, she is always the first one to forgive. To avoid being late at school, mother always drives me to school. She drives me so I don’t have to run to school, be sweaty and panting gasping for air while in class. Life is great, thank you for my existent mother.

20% project – week 5

This week was amazing and I was able to accomplish a lot of things in my trifold! Some successes that I experienced this week were printing all paragraphs and photos, and adding them all onto my trifold. After that I was able to add description to half of the photos that I added. Description includes info about the image. And what causes it (Plastic pollution). This week was a great week and I didn’t have any struggles at all. Since nothing went wrong, I had no adjustments to make. Pick up next time: I will finish adding all description to the rest of the photos. So people know it’s not something random/distraction. After that the trifold should be completed! Next week I will be working on finishing the trifold. And maybe adding some decoration to make my trifold look nice. Then just a plane white board with information. I will probably add decorations that make sense with my topic (Plastic pollution). Such as plastic, garbages and trash glued everywhere the trifold. After the trifold is completed, it’s time to practice! Practice makes it better!

20% project – week 4

This week was amazing and I was able to accomplish a lot of things! For example adding photos and more details! Some successes that I experienced this week were finish picking all my photos and all paragraphs done! This week was a great week and I didn’t have any struggles at all. Since nothing went wrong, I had no adjustments to make. Pick up next time: I will start doing my trifold, preparing to present as I build up my trifold. And add/glue/print photos/paragraphs & put in specific locations in the tri fold. Next week I will be working on my tri fold. If I can, I would try focusing and finishing it all! So that next week I can have even extra time to practice presenting and be even more confident on the day of the presentation! With more time dedicated to practice my presentation, the day to present my presentation will come very smooth and easy! Then being nervous and not knowing what to say/present. Additionally I would try to make my trifold nice, then just a tri fold full of photos and information. You want to draw in people, not make them feel it’s a church meeting.

20% project – Week 3

This week was amazing! And I was able to accomplish a lot! I was able to change all the information that I added to a separate document into my own words! Therefore this wont be count as plagiarism! Some successes that I experienced this week were succeeding and finishing all my paragraphs. Besides that I was able to add more relevant photos to my topic (plastic pollution). Photo that I added included a turtle eating a plastic bag. Which was relevant to explain how trash is always mistaken as food. The next photo I added was a photo of a mountain of trash. Which was relevant to explain how the amount of trash produced is crazy! Not only the amount of trash production was crazy, but it was almost impossible getting rid of it all! This week was a great week and I didn’t have any struggles at all. Since nothing went wrong, I had no adjustments to make. Next Friday I will pick up next time on my paragraphs and maybe add more information. Next week I will be working on my plastic pollution information and paragraphs and add more information, negative causes and effects to humanity about plastic pollution!

Good Neighbor

There are many ways to be a good neighbor and here are a few examples. First, whenever you see your neighbor it’s always good smiling and greeting to them! Who would not like to be greeted? Being friendly is one of the examples to be a good neighbor. Being friendly is also another great reason to make more connections/friends with anybody! Especially when you guys literally see/live next to each other. Better being friendly/nice than treating each others like strangers/enemies. It really depends on how you are as a person. Whether you’re a social or an antisocial person. But of course conversation with your neighbors have to come natural. Starts with eye contact then talking! Secondly, as a good neighbor is helping them. For example, if they go onto a vacation they might ask your help? You’re probably wondering what they might ask? Maybe taking out the trash and putting newspapers in their house. As a good neighbor it’s good helping each other. When you go onto a vacation they will return the favor (If they are fair). Lastly, as a good neighbor it’s always great including them with cards/post cards. Such as Christmas cards or etc. Doing this helps you both get to know each other. Such as family names, family members and age. Including each other makes you both feel the friendship going both ways than one. Not just one chasing for another.

20% project – Week 2

This week was amazing and I was able to accomplish research and paragraphs of my goal (finding solutions to plastic pollution). Some successes that I experienced this week were links/resources that I was able to rely onto my learning of plastic pollution solutions. With a trustworthy site I was able to learn more! This week was a great week and I didn’t have any struggles at all. Since nothing went wrong, I had no adjustments to make. Next week I will pick up next time on putting the paragraphs in my own word. I find the information, copy and paste into separate google docs, then use my own words completely. Next week I will be working on adding the separate paragraphs with information that’s in the separate google docs into my final draft. On that google doc I will be sure to finalize all the paragraph as my own words. Therefore it should not be plagarized.

The Hungry Billion Night

Once there was a platypus. Not just one platypus, billions of platypuses. It was one night. Not just a regular night! A hungry night! They all needed food! From where? Their pool! It was a dark verdant green lake. As they reformed for the slaughter, they started playing music with their beaks. Throbbing and splashing began, minutes later all the fish’s were all inside their warm stomaches in pieces. The billion platypuses destroyed the whole swarm of minnows within minutes..! maybe seconds…! The lake all of sudden turned from a dark verdant green color to a viscous red color. Blood red. Vampire red. Maybe red as lava. After eating their cravings, they could now rest. Billions of the platypuses then heads down in the sunken ships, go through the casement, and down to the main living room. As they arrive in their own rooms, down the snoring goes.

Rad Reading – April

For the month of April I have been reading a book called PROJEKT 1065. The author of this book is by ALAN GRATZ. This is a historical fiction novel about World War II. World war II is raging!!! Michael O’Shaunessey, lived and came from Ireland, now lives in Nazi Germany with his mom and dad. With the other boys in his schoolmates Michael is a member of the Hitler Youth. But what differs from Michael to the other boys was he had a secret. And what specific secret? He and his parents are spies. Michael does not agree nor support everything the Nazis stand for. But he joins in the Hitler Youth’s horrific games and book burnings, playing the part so he can gain knowledge. One day Michael learned about PROJECT 1065, a very secretive Nazi war mission, situations gets difficult. Although this was a big information, he had to prove his loyalty to the Hitler Youth at all circumstance’s. Even if it costs his life.

PROJECT 1065 is a great book explaining the secret Nazi war during WW II. As situations escalated, Michael O’Shaunessey had to stay calm and slowly tell this valuable information to his parents (they were spies against Nazis). Alan Gratz did a phenomenal job explaining all the secrets between the Nazi Youth’s camp. Alan Gratz also did a phenomenal job explaining the situation/setting, by using lots of descriptive words! For example instead of saying “I ran and hid inside a barn, and it was stinky.” Alan Gratz would say “I started with the barn.” “It’s where I would have hidden if I’d been on the run.” “The barn had the itchy of stacked hay and cow poops, and filled with both.” With this evidence you can see the amount of descriptive words Alan Gratz uses.

My most favorite character is Michael O’Shaunessey. Michael O’Shaunessey Is my most favorite character is because he is always sympathetic to everyone, caring and does not agree with Nazi violence. An example from the book was on page 7. “That man — they were hurting him.” “We have to go back and help him,” I said.” This shows how he is very caring and sympathetic to others, wanting to help the Jewish guy that’s getting hurt by a Nazi soldiers. He shows his genuine kindness! The genuine kindness of saving others from their horrible/unfair torture!

My most favorite quote from the story was on page 9. “I just wanted to do something.” “Anything!” This is my most favorite quote because during this situation Michael O’Shaunessey and his mom saw a Jewish man that is being shot, and wanted to help immediately! But Michael’s mom was against it! For what purpose? For both of their safeties! She was holding Michael down as he tries fighting back from getting held back! Michael’s mom was strong enough to hold him down to prevent him from approaching/helping the Jewish man. Due to it being dangerous/risky of getting caught as spies in the Hitler Youth. Or it being life threatening for them both! Hitler Youth does not spare any Jews, they eliminate every possible Jews out there. As an active student currently attending in the Hitler Youth (Michael O’Shaunessey) the Nazi soldier’s will definitely find it suspicious when they see both Michael O’Shaunessey and his mom trying to help save the Jewish man. As Michael O’Shaunessey mom still holds him down from trying, he still tries pulling back! He could not stand this! He wanted to help! But his mom also wanted what’s best for both of their safeties. They can’t risk both of their own precious life just for one Jew! Michael O’Shaunessey Is a very kind/caring boy, willing to risk his life to save a Jewish man! With these evidence I can prove why this quote was memorable to me. Because Michael O’Shaunessey said many times that he was free! And wanted to do something! Just anything! That would help that Jewish man! In the PROJECT 1065 book their’s a total of two graphic. The first graphic is the cover of the book. A picture of a solider on a parachute, two Nazi military planes flying, Nazi soldiers on the grass field searching for Michael O’Shaunessey, grass field, Michael O’Shaunessey running from the Nazi soldiers and war zone (open war zone in grass field). Back cover is a picture of the grass field which is the war zone.

20% Project – Week 1

For my twenty percent project I choose to learn about plastic pollution. I choose this topic because as a fisherman and a bird lover seeing trash where they lived, if they died because of it or it’s stuck onto them makes me furious! People can’t trash their own trash! My mentor is my older brother Toby. I choose my older brother Toby because he loves fishing, but as he fishes he would catch lots of crabs and fishes stuck onto trash. Such as plastic bags or fishing lines. This week was amazing and I was able to accomplish my goal! My goals was to Start adding links and paragraphs to separate doc. Links is to prove my evidence is accurate. Paragraphs is what I’ve learned about plastic pollution! Some successes that I experienced this week were: added photos of plastic pollution & facts on what I’ve learned about plastic pollution! This week was a great week and I didn’t have any struggles at all. Since nothing went wrong, I had no adjustments to make. Next week I will pick up on links I’ve provided to my self to look through! And write more on what I’ve learned about plastic pollution! Next week I will be working on finding various solutions to plastic pollution!
