For the month of October I have been reading a book called Shindoin sama. The author of this book is by Shinnyo-en Youth Association. This is a nonfiction book about Shindoin sama’s life, the religion (Buddha) and how he suffered Carie’s in his entire life. This is about a religion where his family created which is called Shinnyo-en. This is a belief that practices on to reflect on your self behalf on your actions. In this story Shindoin sama wants to express his gratitude not to only people but to simple basic needs like food, clothes and supplies. He treats them each with care and respect with his actions. Every time in his life he would treat it as a training for his religion. He would take lots of shots because of his bad health condition that he was in. He would then say thank you to the nurse/doctors that gave him every shots instead of complaining that it’s painful. People accused his dad which is the leader of this religion that he is abusing his people with the religious instruments, such as staffs. He was then accused and taken to jail. Because of this Shindoin sama and his two sisters gets bullied every time they walk to school. The bullies would call their dad’s religion a phony religion and they would push him and throw rocks towards him. This made Shindoin sama very sad and frustrated which made him not wanting to go to school because of this. He still continues going to school because he did not want to make his dad even worry while he’s in jail. After days of his dad being in jail he finally retuned after his people justified that he was not abusing the people. July 16 Shindoin sama rode a car and went to the hospital to get treated with shots. The helper said “I hope Shindoin sama would return”. Shindoin sama mom says “ I dont think Sindoin sama will be coming back”. “I had visions in my prayer of a white kerchief covering his face”.

I really enjoyed this book, and would highly recommend it because all of the feelings the author expressed sounds real! When the character expressed their feelings I can feel it. Not only that but Shinnyo-en Youth Association did a great job by letting us see their reaction in pictures. Instead of us visualizing it all. If you would like to be better as a person and to be kind read this book! Shindoin sama’s actions shows you how to be a great person. And to always treat items with respect and care!

My most favorite character from this book is Shindoin sama. Shindoin sama is my favorite character because he always express gratitude. For example in page 188 he says “Thank you very much”. After receiving a very tough/painful shot. He endured this pain without saying anything negative but positive. This shows how Shindoin sama expresses gratitude even if he feels pain. And would express gratitude no matter what.

My most favorite line from the story is when Shindoin sama says “How long will it take to get to Juntendo?” His dad said “Probably two hours”. Shindoin sama said “Then I have about two hours to spend with you father!” This is meaningful to me because instead of complaining that the ride would be two hours, Shindoin sama see’s it as spending extra time with his dad! There’s a total of 274 graphics in this book. One graphic I can explain was in page 131 when the bullies is throwing rocks at Shindoin sama and his two sisters.

Mr. Beast is the famous person I would want to trade places for a month. Mr. Beast is a super wealthy YouTuber over 204 million subscribers! I would trade places with Mr. Beast because he is super wealthy. I would use his money to upgrade my house into a mansion, I would also buy nice cars such as Lamborghini and give lots of money to my family. I would also eat luxury foods without worrying about my budget. Another reason I would trade places with Mr. Beast is how good his YouTube channel is! For example in his YouTube channel I can start a food business with the money he has and advertise it through his YouTube channel to get more money. A lot of people would try it because of how famous he is. Lastly I would exchange places with Mr. Beast is that I could become a billionaire by being a really good content creator by doing viral promotions and merchandise sales. This is the famous person I would like to try switching places with.

It would be a dream to have a perfect day it would go like this. It would start with a fresh sunny weather I would imagine going to an island with pirates into an adventurous journey! The location would be somewhere in the ocean. We would eat fish that we catch off from the shore of the beach. First of all I would want to go for an adventure around the island finding food or finding pirates. I would want to try to be in a survival mode and build a tent using bamboo and huge leafs. Another thing I would like to do is to explore the pirate ships. I would provoke the pirates by raiding into their boats to take their treasure. During the day I would have to fight off pirates with my spear. When one of my family member gets abducted we would rescue them by infiltrating into the pirate boats. To get my lunch and dinner I would try to make a spear or a bow by carving out the rocks and woods in order to make it pointy and catch fish. The fish I would try to catch is a kelp bass because of how delicious it is. Additionally during the night I would make a campfire and sit down with my family. Lastly In my dream adventure like this I would go with my family.

I would want to be six years old forever. Because six years old is one of the easiest times of your life. Because you’re in elementary. Another reason why I would want to be a six years old is I can be one of the most intelligent six year old. It’s like a twelve year old stuck in a six year old body. Additionally being a six year old won’t have much homework or even test. Lastly I would want to be a six year old because I won’t have to worry about anything. There are so many reasons to be a six years old and these are just a few of my favorite’s.

Every spring break summer break or even thanksgiving break, me and my family would go to Santa Barbra! In this vacation spot we would stay in a hotel named Homewood suits. This hotel serves both breakfast and dinner. I love eating their breakfast and dinner. My most favorite breakfast is hash brown with eggs. My most favorite dinner they served was an Italian soup with pasta balls. My dad, older brother and I would go fishing in two spots! The fishing spots is at Port Hueneme and Goleta pier. The first day we would go fishing at port Hueneme pier and be in clad of jacket because of how cold and windy it can be at night. At port Hueneme my dad and I would pull up a crab net which is meant for catching crabs. When we pull the crab net up we would have a premonition that all our chicken bait is gone because of the amount of crabs eating the bait. For lunch we would eat cup noodles with a boil egg because the hotel don’t serve lunch. Sometimes we were able to catch a spider crab if we were lucky enough to. They are huge and dirty but they taste delicious! Once we came home at the hotel my brother and I would usually watch TV at our hotel room. The next day we would usually go to our second pier which is at Goleta pier. In that pier there’s lots of pigeons and I would catch them using bread as the bait. One time we had to untangle our crab net because it got tangled in the pillars. On the last day of our vacation we would go fishing at port Hueneme pier once again as the final fishing destination. While we fish my mom would usually go shopping at Carlsbad. She would only tag along with us at Goleta pier. One time we skipped going to Goleta pier, instead we went to a place called The Ostrich Land in Solvang. It was so fun! I was able to feed the ostrich and pet them! Their fur felt dry and hard. They where ok when I touched there head and body. This is my most favorite vacation spot and can’t wait to repeat it again.

For the month of September I have been reading a book called The Fire Bird Rocket. The author of this book is Franklin W. Dixon. This is a fiction mystery novel about 3 boys solving a mystery. This is about the Firebird Rocket that is endangered when a famous rocket scientist disappears without trace on his way to the Woomera Monitoring Station at Australia. They later met someone named Oliver Ponsley. He is asking Joe and Frank for help to find a guy named Mike Moran the missing son of a prominent senator. Their dad named Fenton hardy needed both Joe and Frank help on the Firebird case. Both Frank and Joe turned down the case with Oliver Ponsley. The two boys encountered many death situations because they were target. Joe, Frank and Chet went onto an airplane and saw Oliver Ponsley in their same airline, they questioned him why was he following him. Apparently he wasn’t. They both came into an agreement to accept his case again because of the same location they were headed to. (Oliver Ponsley’s Case). The 3 boys decided to solve 2 cases at once.

I really enjoyed this book, and would highly recommend it because all of the death situations they encountered sounds real! What all the characters say would also sounds real! Because of the situation and how they expressed it in words! Franklin W.Dixon did a great job on describing every situation the boys encountered and how they felt, it can make me imagine as if I were in there position. If you like mystery novels read this book! The FireBird Rocket deeply explains their mystery and them solving it!

My most favorite character from this book is Joe! Joe is my favorite character because he is very protective. For example In pages 78-79 it says “Thanks for saving me, Joe,” Frank puffed. “Are you ok?”. “ Joe took a death-defying leap at the car.”. This shows how protective Joe is. Because he went towards the car so his brother Frank would not get hit.

My most favorite line from the story is when Oliver Ponsley said “Find a ring like this, and you’ll find Mike Moran”. This is meaningful for me because Oliver Ponsley explained his case real simple, real quick and real confident. This quote shows who Mike Moran can be as a person. The first graphic in this book is the cover, which shows the Firebird Rocket. The second graphic is in page 7 a drawing when Oliver Ponsley shows his big ruby ring. The third graphic in this book is in page 79 a drawing when Joe leaped at the car to protect Frank. The third graphic is in page 117 a drawing when Joe, Frank and Chet almost got caught by Cutler.
